2017 Top Five Birthday Party Themes for Kids
Wow! Another year has come and gone. And if you have a child or children you have celebrated another birthday this year, or two, or three. Since this is the last day of 2017 I thought that it would be very appropriate to share my 2017 top 5 trendy childrens' birthday themes list. What's a birthday party without cake or cupcakes? Being in the cake business, I can always gauge what themes are in! And in the true fashion of counting down to the New Year I will counting down my top 5 themes of 2017. I am sure that we will continue to see some of these themes in the New Year and welcome new ones which I really look forward to. Without further ado, HERE WE GO............
5. LEGO Party
Oh Boy! I remember those tiny little connecting cubes that I rarely played with growing up. Well, those toys have not gone anywhere. They have now created TV shows and movies based on the little people that go along with these toys, legoes (which I am sure most parents already know). The Lego Ninjago Movie has really helped Lego stay on top of the game. I saw the movie and I absolutely loved it!! Here are my Lego Batman and Ninjago Kai cakes made in 2017.
4. Shopkins Party
These tiny, little toys are loved by girls of all ages, all over the world! With two little girls in my life I've seen more then enough Shopkins..lol. Shopkins themselves are mostly food characters so a Shopkins party of course will be filled with food and food themed decorations. But it's always about the sweet table at a party! Since there are so many different types of Shopkins; Cooky Cookie, Lippy Lips, Poppy Corn...and so on, you can get an extremely cool and customized Shopkins cake, cupakes or other treats. Check out some of my Shopkins treats from this year.
3. Superhero Party
Thank you Mavel and DC Comics for bringing all of our favorite comic book heroes to life, I love Superheroes! And what a pretty cool theme this is. You get to decorate using your kid's favorite superhero logos, have them dress up like their favorite hero and of course order (or make) a SUPERhero cake or cupcakes.
2. Emoji Party
There's an Emoji for almost every feeling there is and IPhone users have fell in love with these crazy little faces. Adults, teens, tweens and kids alike enjoy using Emojis to communicate and also enjoy using them to PaRtY! And I have to admit, they make for the cutest party ever! All of the different little faces (even the Poop Emoji) allows a baker to get really creative! Check out my many Emoji creations from 2017.
1. Unicorns
I blinked and for some reason, Unicorns took the cake world by storm this year. Unicorn birthday party decorations are absolutely beautiful, and sometimes breathtaking! There were so many variations to that very popular unicorn cake, too many in my opinion...lol. But my favorite unicorn treat would have to be cupcakes. I especially loved my own cute, sparkly cupcakes (yeah, I'm a little bias). Kudos to you if you celebrated with any of these wonderful birthday themes. And if not, even better! Get ready to start up new trendy themes with those January birthdays.
